Activities for children in Pont-la-Ville

Between the Rossens dam and the hills of the Gruyère region, Pont-la-Ville keeps one foot in the water and the other in the forest. Its beach, smaller and more intimate than the big beaches on the lake, appeals to families looking for peace and quiet.

This is also where the dam footbridge comes out, a 105-metre metal structure suspended above the lake, which in a few years has become a destination in its own right.

Here is our selection of activities for children in Pont-la-Ville.

Why choose Pont-la-Ville for a family outing?

Because the municipality lets you combine a walk and a swim in the same half-day. The dam footbridge, opened in November 2022, takes only a few minutes to cross but leaves a lasting memory: 105 metres long, 80 centimetres wide, about ten metres above the water. The loop from the dam takes less than an hour, even with young children.

Pont-la-Ville Beach then takes over, with its clear water and its quiet atmosphere, away from the crowds of the beaches at the northern end of the lake. It is the good plan for hot weekends, when the big sites are full.

The area also lends itself to walks along the Lake Gruyère trail, which links the shores and the villages together, with open views over the water and the Fribourg Prealps.
