A bubble of nature on the edge of Geneva

Bioparc Genève is the only wildlife park in the canton. Tucked away in Bellevue, on the right bank of the lake, it is home to more than 250 animals of around 85 species, European and exotic, along paths that are easy to follow with children. You come here to observe, learn and have a good time outdoors, without having to leave the region.

What your children will discover

The park brings together a fine variety of animals at a child's eye level. Depending on the seasons and the enclosures, your little explorers may come across:

• Lemurs and monkeys, always on the move
• A red panda, the park's quiet star
• Meerkats and kunekune pigs
• Many brightly coloured parrots, macaws and cockatoos
• Big cats such as the lynx or the serval
• Reptiles and tortoises

Each enclosure is a chance for a little nature lesson, told simply, about biodiversity and the protection of species.

What you do there and the atmosphere on site

Bioparc is explored on foot, at a leisurely pace, following colour-coded paths. The atmosphere is family-friendly and calm, far from big crowded zoos: you take your time to observe, read the signs and chat with the keepers. Depending on the time of year, the park also offers feeding times, immersive encounters and guided tours that delight curious children. It's an outing to be savoured without rushing.

• Recommended age: from 3 years, and up to the teenage years depending on interest in animals
• Duration: allow 1h30 to 2h30 to go round at a child's pace

• What to bring: good shoes, a jacket depending on the weather and something to drink
• Best season: pleasant all year round, the park staying open even in winter

• Arrive in the morning if you can: the animals are often more active and the park quieter
• Note the feeding times on site, they're highlights for children
• Bring a picnic: the surroundings of the park are well suited to a break
• With a toddler, favour carrying them on the narrow or sloping sections
