Chaplin's World

Do you know the man with the bowler hat and the cane? At Chaplin's World, your children step into the magical universe of Charlie Chaplin, on the heights above Vevey. A manor, a film studio and a large park: a funny and tender journey to enjoy as a family. Are you ready for the big show?

In the footsteps of Charlie Chaplin, on the heights above Vevey

In Corsier-sur-Vevey, the Manoir de Ban was for twenty-five years the home of Charlie Chaplin and his family. Now transformed into a museum, Chaplin's World invites young and old to discover the life and work of one of cinema's greatest artists. The site is divided in two: the restored residence, where you visit the family's rooms, and a spectacular studio that recreates the sets of his most famous films. Around it, a 14-hectare park offers space to breathe and enjoy the view over Lake Geneva. A rare blend of cinema, history and wide open spaces.

What your children will discover

Children move from the cosy living room of the manor to the life-size sets of the studio: the street of a big American city, the café, the factory from Les Temps modernes, the dentist's office... Incredibly realistic wax figures, including Chaplin himself, punctuate the tour and invite photos. Everything is designed to make you laugh and marvel, with interactive scenes and film clips screened throughout the visit. In the park, they discover the century-old trees, the lawns and the corners where the Chaplin family loved to stroll. It is a lively and joyful way to get to know an artist many children do not yet know.

What you do there and the atmosphere on site

You often start with a short screening before entering the studio, then wander freely from one set to another. The atmosphere is playful and warm: you laugh, you imitate Charlot's walk, you take photos with the characters. The manor, more intimate, is visited at a calmer pace. The park then lets you run around and picnic when the weather allows. Allow about two hours to take it all in without rushing. Shows or activities sometimes punctuate the programme: check the official website before your visit.
