Handicamp

For over 40 years, Handicamp has organised inclusive camps bringing together children with and without disabilities to share moments of discovery, friendship and adventure.

About

Inclusive holiday camps where children with and without disabilities can share an experience of discovery, friendship and adventure.

About Handicamp

Founded in 1983, Handicamp is a volunteer-run association that organises camps for children aged 4 to 16 with a mild physical or intellectual disability.

Its approach is based on inclusion: each child can take part with a friend, brother or sister, with or without a disability. The aim is to give children the opportunity to enjoy a genuine camp experience, live as part of a group and discover differences naturally through activities and shared experiences.

For more than 40 years, Handicamp has organised an annual summer camp as well as a winter weekend in different parts of Switzerland.

What Handicamp offers

Summer camp

A full week organised every year between late July and early August, in a different location in Switzerland.

Children take part in games, group activities and, whenever possible, more unusual experiences such as paragliding, hot-air ballooning or sailing.

Next camp: 24 to 31 July 2027 in Seedorf (UR).
Participation fee: CHF 150 per child.

Winter weekend

Each winter, Handicamp also organises a reunion weekend in a mountain chalet, with both indoor and outdoor activities.

Next weekend: 19 to 21 February 2027 in Ravoir (VS).
Participation fee: CHF 30 per child.
Registration deadline: 30 November 2026.

Who can take part?

The camps are intended for children aged 4 to 16, particularly children with a mild physical or intellectual disability.

Each child can come with a friend, brother or sister, with or without a disability. Children who have already taken part in a camp are given priority.

A fully volunteer-run association

Handicamp is entirely run by volunteers, with a committee of 11 members as well as a team of camp leaders from a wide range of backgrounds.

Anyone interested in helping to supervise and organise the camps can contact the association directly.

How to take part

Registration forms and practical information are available directly on the association’s website:
