This artificial lake in the canton of Fribourg, created by the Rossens dam, winds for nearly 13 kilometres through the heart of the Gruyère region. Its wooded shores, Ogoz Island and quiet coves make it a popular spot to unwind, away from the crowded beaches.
The water temperature of Lake Gruyère is generally a notch below that of the large lowland lakes, but it becomes pleasant for swimming in July and August. Find the current temperature here, along with the forecast and monthly averages computed over several decades.
