Ludothèque l'Escargot

Yverdon·Vaud

On rainy days, rather than going stir-crazy, head for Rue des Casernes: the l'Escargot toy library in Yverdon-les-Bains offers a choice of 1,900 games and toys for all ages. Board games for young and old, outdoor games for sunnier days, role-play games, construction games, puzzles, dressing-up costumes, large wooden games and electronic games: every member of the family will find something to enjoy.

The lending principle means you leave with new games at every visit, without turning the house into a warehouse. Gift vouchers are also available.

The library opens four days a week at the end of the day: Mondays from 17:00 to 19:00, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16:00 to 18:00, and Wednesdays from 15:00 to 17:00.

Ludothèque Boule de Gomme

Grandson, 1422

On Wednesdays, from 10:00 to 18:00, the Boule de Gomme toy library welcomes families from Grandson over a very wide time slot. Just one opening day a week, but eight hours straight: everyone can plan their visit freely, in the morning or the afternoon. It remains very affordable: membership costs 25 francs a year per family, and each game is then hired out at 2 francs for three weeks. At that price, regularly refreshing the games at home becomes a habit rather than a budget line. Based at Rue Jean-Lecomte 5, the association is regularly looking for volunteers to keep the place running. Local residents willing to give a little of their time are most welcome.
