Ludothèque Romanel

Romanel·Vaud

The Romanel toy library keeps a particularly lively calendar: its monthly board game evenings run from 20:00 to midnight, video game evenings are played on the big screen, and themed events punctuate the year, from Romanel Plage to Halloween.

On the lending side, the library on Chemin de Cousson offers board games "for every taste and every age", along with a collection of around a hundred Nintendo Switch games, a great opportunity to try titles before buying them.

Well rooted in local life, it works in partnership with the Bibliothèque Papyrus and with Romanel Ô Troc. Opening hours can be found on its website.

Ludothèque Le Dé-Tour

Cheseaux, 1033

Borrowing hundreds of games and toys, but also playing on site: that is the dual purpose of Le Dé-tour, the Cheseaux toy library, with its play kitchen corner, its play area and advice from the staff. Games are sorted by age group using a colour-coded labelling system, then grouped by type of game, which makes finding your way around very easy, even for children. Two options are available: occasional hire from 1 to 5 francs depending on the value of the game, or an annual membership at 25 francs giving unlimited borrowing, with a family discount from two members onwards. The library opens twice a week, on Mondays from 16:30 to 18:15 and Thursdays from 15:15 to 17:00, at Route de Lausanne 4, right in the heart of Cheseaux.

Ludothèque Le Potiron

Renens, 1020

From young children to seniors, the Le Potiron toy library caters to every generation in Renens. Its calendar of regular activities is aimed both at children from the age of 5 and at people over 55, and the team takes part in a Fête du jeu featuring large-scale games. Based on Rue de la Source, it welcomes residents four days a week: Tuesdays from 16:00 to 19:00, Wednesday mornings (9:30–11:30) and afternoons (15:00–18:00), Thursdays from 15:00 to 18:00, plus the first Saturday of the month from 9:30 to 11:30. The principle remains that of lending: you borrow, you play at home, then you bring it back, a clever way to fill rainy Wednesdays.

Ludothèque L'OASIS

Bussigny, 1030

In the west of Lausanne, the L'OASIS toy library offers games and toys on loan to families in Bussigny and the surrounding area. As in a library, you leave with a selection, enjoy it at home, then bring everything back and choose something new. The formula has real advantages for families: it lets you try a game before buying it, match the toys to your children's age as the years go by, and keep your home liveable despite the little ones' appetite for novelty. Grey afternoons find their remedy here too, with a regularly refreshed stock of games. The service is presented on the Bussigny municipal website, in the pages devoted to childhood and youth, where you will find the information you need to plan your first visit.
