Pools of Nid-du-Crô

By the shores of Lake Neuchâtel, the Piscines du Nid-du-Crô bring together indoor pools, a large outdoor area, and a pebble beach. An ideal spot for a family day, whether it rains or shines.

The Experience

Le Nid-du-Crô is the large swimming complex in the city of Neuchâtel, located right by the lake. People come here to swim, dive, splash around, or simply relax on the beach facing the water. The place is designed for families: there are activities for both the little ones and the older ones, and you can easily transition from the pool to the lake in just a few steps.

Big advantage: there is an indoor area open all year round and an outdoor area in season. You are therefore not at the mercy of the weather.

What to Do Onsite?

On the outdoor side (in season), you will find an Olympic pool, a leisure pool, a paddling pool for the little ones, and a 10 m diving board for the more daring. On the indoor side, open all year round, there is a 25 m swimming pool, a non-swimmer pool, a paddling pool, and a 3 m diving board.

Outside, the Robinson area (wooden play structures and a covered sandbox) delights children, and two multi-sport areas allow for movement between swims. The pebble beach, about 130 m long, provides direct access to Lake Neuchâtel for those who prefer open water.

For What Age?

The place is suitable for the whole family. The little ones have their paddling pool and play area, children who swim enjoy the large pools, and teenagers challenge themselves on the diving boards. As always by the water, keep a constant eye on the younger ones.

Good to Know

The historic slides were removed in 2023, and new ones are under consideration: don’t count on a slide for now. Renovation work on the infrastructure and outdoor areas is also planned between 2025 and 2027, and the indoor pool closes occasionally for maintenance. It’s best to check the status of the opening on the official site before heading out.

Frequently asked questions

Is the pool open all year round?
Yes, the indoor pools are open all year round. The outdoor pools, on the other hand, only operate during the summer season (approximately from mid-May to mid-September). The indoor pool may occasionally close for maintenance, so be sure to check before coming.
How much does entry cost for a family?
The single entry costs CHF 7.- for an adult and CHF 3.80 for children aged 6 and over, apprentices, students, and AVS/AI beneficiaries. Children under 6 enter for free (an ID may be requested). Subscriptions and 10-entry cards are also available.
Is there a slide?
Not at the moment. The old slides were removed in 2023 because they were too worn out. New slides are being studied as part of the planned renovations, but they are not yet in service.
Can you swim in the lake from the pool?
Yes. The site features a pebble beach of about 130 m providing direct access to Lake Neuchâtel, in addition to the swimming pool basins.
