Carouge, Lancy, Onex: our children’s outings south of Geneva

From the Sardinian town of Carouge to the parks of Onex, the south of the canton of Geneva lines up family outings without the bustle of the city centre. A city farm, trampolines, treetop adventure, swimming pools and neighbourhood cinemas: here is our selection south of the Arve.

In Carouge, a village feel

• Cinéma Bio: the neighbourhood cinema that spoils families with its young audience screenings, from age 4.

• The Evaux sports centre: a huge park between the Rhône and the city, with disc golf and foot golf for families from age 6 — original and very affordable.
• Parc Aventure Genève in Onex: Geneva’s treetop adventure park, with courses from age 3.
• Les Bains de Cressy in Confignon: relaxing in the water, family-friendly from age 3.

Our suggested Saturday in the south

Morning: la ferme de la Gavotte while the animals are active. A picnic at Les Evaux. Afternoon: treetop adventure in Onex for the daredevils, or Cinéma Bio plus an ice cream in Carouge for the quieter version.
