Ludothèque Meyrin

Meyrin·Geneva

Refreshing the toy collection without cluttering the house, finding something to do on rainy days, trying a game before buying it: the Meyrin toy library provides all of this for families in the municipality, based on the principle of lending games and toys.

As in a library, you choose, borrow, play, then return, and games circulate from family to family instead of sleeping in cupboards. An affordable and sustainable formula that lets children regularly discover new worlds of play.

Games and toys can be borrowed by families in Meyrin, in the canton of Geneva. Practical information is available from the toy library.

Ludothèque des Avanchets

Les Avanchets, 1220

Giving everyone access to quality games and toys, on site or at home, for a modest contribution: that is the mission of the Avanchets toy library on Rue du Grand Bay. It sees itself as a place of meeting and exchange, intended to encourage the pleasure of playing and to build connections between people and families in the neighbourhood. Activities are organised there, and groups from institutions are also welcomed. The toy library is open four afternoons a week, Tuesday to Friday, with an extended slot on Wednesdays from 14:00 to 18:00. A quick stop at the end of the day is enough to return a finished game and leave with something new.

Ludothèque des Libellules

Châtelaine, 1219

In Châtelaine, in the municipality of Vernier, Ludothèque des Libellules makes games and toys available to families in the neighbourhood. The idea is simple: rather than buying a game that may end up at the back of a cupboard, you borrow it, try it at home, then bring it back and pick another. For children, it is a chance to regularly discover new board games and toys without cluttering the flat. For parents, it is an affordable way to keep things fresh and to find something to do on Wednesdays or rainy days. Games and toys can be borrowed by families from the Châtelaine neighbourhood and, more broadly, from Vernier, in the canton of Geneva.

Ludothèque L'arbre à Jouets

Le Lignon, 1219

Since March 2003, the Lignon estate has had its own toy library: L'arbre à Jouets, whose premises sit just below the Catholic church of Le Lignon. Run by a team of dedicated volunteers, it offers more than 600 games and toys for ages 1 to 99, to use on site or borrow to take home. Playing on site lets you try before you borrow; borrowing lets you carry on the fun at home, then move on to the next game without accumulating anything. At the heart of this estate in the canton of Geneva, the toy library also plays its part as a neighbourhood hub, where young and old gather around a games table.
