A historic canal along a nature trail

Between Eclépens and La Sarraz, the Canal d'Entreroches trail runs along the remains of a 17th-century canal (dug between 1638 and 1648), which was once meant to link Lake Neuchâtel to Lake Geneva. Today, it's an easy nature loop of about 3.7 km (a little over an hour), with interpretive panels. In spring, the Mormont area is covered with carpets of wild daffodils. A rustic and instructive walk, perfect as a family.

What your children will discover

You follow the waymarked loop, on gravel and forest paths, with picnic areas for a break. The atmosphere is calm and bucolic. In spring (from mid-March to late April), the daffodils are the great spectacle; the rest of the fine season, the trail stays pleasant and shaded.
