CinéVersoix is not a multiplex: it's a community neighbourhood cinema, run since 1995 by the Association École & Quartier de Versoix (AEQV). You come here to share the emotion and magic of the big screen in a friendly atmosphere, with no endless ads or popcorn. For families, the not-to-be-missed event is called Ciné-Prim's: a selection of films designed for children, screened on Friday in the late afternoon.

What your children will discover

The Ciné-Prim's cycle offers around fifteen young audience films each season, chosen to open up imaginations and develop children's outlook. You'll find tender animated short-film programmes (the likes of Le Gruffalo, Le Grand Méchant Renard) as well as films to discover from elsewhere.

It's often the first real cinema experience for the youngest: the lights going down, the big screen, the enveloping sound, and that lovely discovery that a film is watched together, in silence and right to the end.

What you do there and the atmosphere on site

The Aula des Colombières is a human-scale hall, which reassures children discovering the cinema. The community team welcomes the audience with a smile, and the spirit remains that of a village cinema: you come across local families, grandparents, regulars.

Screenings are shown without an interval. So remember a quick trip to the toilets before the film starts, and perhaps slip a water bottle into the bag for afterwards. At the end, there's always plenty to talk about on the way home about what you've just seen.
