A sports outing in the forest, free access

The Parcours Vita in Versoix is a fitness trail set in the heart of the forest, punctuated by wooden stations where you jump, stretch, climb, and test your balance. It's one of those simple and free outings that we love: you put on good shoes, leave from the Cabane du Bûcheron, and follow the loop of about 2.7 km at your own pace. No equipment, no registration: you go whenever you want, alone or with family.

What your children will discover

Children love the Vita courses because everything resembles a large natural playground. Along the trail, they discover about fifteen stations: balance beams, bars to hang from, logs to step over, cones to jump, and small signs that explain each exercise with a drawing. Between two stations, the forest takes over, with its smells, sounds, and paths where you can run freely. A great way to expend energy without even realizing it.

What to do there and the atmosphere on site

The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. You encounter families, joggers, and walkers, but the trail is long enough for everyone to find their space. The little ones jump from one station to another like in a treasure hunt, while parents take the opportunity to do some exercises. The elevation is low, the terrain remains smooth in the forest, and a picnic area with tables, benches, and a grilling spot allows you to extend the outing around a snack or a barbecue.

Before you go

• Recommended age: from 6 years old to follow the loop and try the exercises; younger ones also love it, walking and climbing at their own pace.
• Duration: plan for 1 to 1.5 hours with family, depending on breaks and the desire to play.
• Reservation: none, access is free and open at all times.
• Stroller: the forest terrain is uneven; an all-terrain stroller or a baby carrier is more comfortable.
• Transport: Versoix train station with the Léman Express, then a short walk, or TPG bus. Parking available near the start.
• To bring: water, good shoes, clothing suitable for the forest, and, depending on the season, something to protect against mosquitoes or rain.
• Ideal season: accessible all year round; the trail is particularly pleasant in spring and autumn, and muddier after rain.

Parents' tips

• Turn the outing into a game: set a challenge at each station (who can balance the longest, who can jump the most).
• Bring a small snack for the picnic area, it's often the children's favorite moment.
• After rain, the ground can be slippery: shoes with good soles are recommended.
• In summer, go in the morning or late in the day to enjoy the coolness of the forest.
