Activities for children in Corbières

Set on the eastern shore of Lake Gruyère, Corbières is one of those Fribourg municipalities where the water is part of everyday life. The village overlooks the lake, and its beach, at the spot known as La Montagnetta, slopes gently down to water that reassures parents of young children.

The municipality is also home to one of the few rental bases on the lake: licence-free boats, kayaks and stand up paddleboards make it possible to discover the wooded shores and the Île d'Ogoz other than from a towel. A few minutes' drive away, Bulle, Gruyères and the Maison Cailler in Broc easily round off a day out.

Here is our selection of activities for children in Corbières.

By season in Corbières

Why choose Corbières for a family outing?

Because within a few hundred metres the municipality brings together everything you look for on a summer's day: a free, well-equipped beach, and the means to head out onto the water. Corbières Beach is among the best equipped on Lake Gruyère, with its tables, its fire pits for barbecues, its toilets and its playground, all in the shade of tall trees.

For families who want to be active, Aventure Gruyère rents licence-free boats, kayaks and paddleboards in the village, including giant models on which a whole set of siblings can stand. It is the chance to reach coves that cannot be seen from the road and to approach the Île d'Ogoz and its medieval ruins.

Corbières also has the advantage of its position: in the heart of the Gruyère region, a few minutes from Bulle and its swimming pools, from the château de Gruyères and from the Maison Cailler. You can therefore base a swimming day here and keep a fallback plan for rain.
