The neighbourhood playground, west of the village
West of Savigny, between the chemin de la Guéta, the chemin d'Eden Roc and the Pierre-Ozaire area, this playground serves an entire residential neighbourhood. It is far from the centre and its bustle, which makes it a quiet spot where local children meet after school. A pedestrian crossing has been laid out at the junction of the chemin de la Guéta and the route de la Roche so that it can be reached safely on foot, and the commune has expressly asked for it to be kept: it serves both the playground and a bus stop used for picking up children.
What your children will discover
The equipment is simple and practical. A wooden playhouse, whose wall was replaced by the commune, serves as headquarters for the little ones: a hut, a shop, a hiding place, depending on the game of the day. Next to it stands a climbing wall fitted with a rope and a steel railing, also renewed by the commune, which works the balance and arm strength. The ground surface has been repaired to cushion falls. This is a local playground, maintained and inspected every year, not a theme park.
What you do there and the atmosphere on site
It is the kind of place where you stop for twenty minutes on the way home from a walk, or for an hour on a Saturday morning while the children burn off energy. The neighbourhood is quiet and residential, with no through traffic. Children make the playhouse their own and replay the same scenarios for hours, something heavily equipped playgrounds do not always allow. For local parents it is the everyday playground; for visitors, a handy stop if you are around the Claie-aux-Moines.
Before you go
- Recommended age: roughly 2 to 10 years, the playhouse appealing above all to the youngest
- Duration: twenty minutes to an hour
- Price: free, a municipal playground with open access
- Booking: none
- Pushchair access: level access from the chemin de la Guéta
- Transport: a bus stop is immediately nearby, with a pedestrian crossing at the junction of the chemin de la Guéta and the route de la Roche
- What to bring: a snack and a water bottle, as there is no fountain on this playground
- Best season: all year round
Parents' tips
- Use the pedestrian crossing at the junction of the chemin de la Guéta and the route de la Roche, it is the safe route designed for children.
- The playhouse is the piece that keeps them busy longest: bring something for playing shop or restaurant.
- No toilets or fountain on site, plan ahead with young children.
- If you are after more equipment, the Forum playground in the village centre is far better fitted out.
- The playground works well as a break in the middle of a walk around the Claie-aux-Moines.

Why we recommend it
Because it is a genuine neighbourhood playground, quiet and safe, reached on foot from the crossing next door. It does not compete with the Forum, and that is not its role: it gives families in the west of Savigny somewhere to breathe two minutes from home, and passing walkers a welcome break.
In a nutshell
A wooden playhouse and a climbing wall with a rope in a quiet residential neighbourhood: the local playground of la Guéta and Eden Roc, free and openly accessible.
