Meeting the Huskies, in the Heights of Saint-Cergue

In the natural setting of the Vaud Jura, PPP Rando invites families to share a moment with a pack of sled dogs. We often start with a visit to the pack: we approach the huskies, learn to know them, listen to their story and that of this Nordic sport. Then comes the cani-hike, where the dogs pull the walk, in snow during winter and on foot the rest of the year. It’s a lively and sensory experience, in contact with the animals and the great outdoors. An outing that leaves a lasting impression on children, far from usual activities.

What Your Children Will Discover

Your children will discover the strong bond that unites the musher to his dogs. They learn how huskies live, how they work as a team, and why they love to run so much. During the cani-hike, they feel the power of the dogs pulling and the joy of progressing together in nature. It’s a beautiful lesson in respect for living beings, patience, and trust. In contact with the animals, even the shyest open up and leave with stars in their eyes, full of questions about these dogs from the Great North.

What We Do There and the Atmosphere on Site

The atmosphere is warm, natural, and very human. We take our time: petting, explanations, observing the pack, then the pulled walk according to the chosen formula. The supervision is family-oriented and educational, suitable for both children and adults who are discovering. Depending on the season, the outing takes place on snow with a sled or on foot with the dogs in a cani-hike. We walk, listen, observe, and laugh a lot. Be sure to wear clothes suitable for the day's weather: the activity takes place outdoors, at the pace of the dogs and nature.
