Baker for a day at the communal oven
In Grimentz, the village's communal oven (the four banal, in the heart of old Grimentz) hosts a workshop making rye bread, the Valais speciality. With guidance, participants discover the tradition of bread, shape their own dough, then watch it bake in the wood-fired oven, before sharing an apéritif. A tasty, friendly and authentic experience, to enjoy as a family from age 6. The workshop is included in the Pass Anniviers Liberté.
What your children will discover
Children get their hands in the dough: they knead, shape and place their bread in the oven. They discover how, in the past, the whole village gathered to bake bread at the four banal. The pride of leaving with their own bread (and the shared apéritif) crowns the workshop. A hands-on activity that links gesture, tradition and taste.
