The Kidora mobile app is here: find an activity for your kids, wherever you are
It’s official: Kidora is now available on iPhone and Android. More than 600 children’s activities in French-speaking Switzerland now fit in your pocket, with an interactive map, age filters and a search around your location. Here is everything the new app can do to make your family outings easier.
Why a mobile app?
Since Kidora launched, many of you have been looking for an outing idea at the last minute: a Wednesday afternoon that suddenly frees up, a rainy Saturday, holidays at the grandparents’ on the other side of French-speaking Switzerland. The website already covers those situations, but let’s be honest: when you are at the park with a bored child or on the train to Sion, everything happens on your phone.
The Kidora app was born from that observation. It carries the site’s full catalogue, more than 600 verified activities in French-speaking Switzerland (museums, swimming pools, playgrounds, nature outings, shows, escape games), and makes it accessible in a few taps, wherever you are.

“Around me”: the nearest outing, in one tap
This is the feature designed for parents on the move. From the home screen, the “Around me” mode shows outings within 25 km of your location. Spending the weekend in Neuchâtel? Visiting Fribourg? The app immediately shows you what there is to do around you, without needing to know the region.
The interactive map completes the experience: every activity appears as a pin, and you just tap one to see its page appear. Ideal for spotting at a glance what exists between two towns or along your route.
Filters designed for families
Just like on the website, you filter activities by what really matters:
- Your children’s age: to see only suitable outings, from baby to teenager.
- Indoor or outdoor: the go-to filter on rainy or scorching days.
- The canton: to target your region of French-speaking Switzerland.
- The season: to tell the summer toboggan run from the winter ice rink.
As for the search, it understands what you type as you go: “piscine Nyon”, “musée Lausanne” or “forest” is enough to bring up the matching suggestions.
“My wishlist”: your favourites, even without signal
A heart on each page lets you build your wishlist: outings spotted for the next holidays, ideas to try on a Wednesday, sure bets to do again. A welcome bonus in the mountains or on the train: your favourites remain available offline, even without a connection.
Each page carries the useful information you know from the website: description, recommended age, address, tips from parents, and a Directions button that launches your navigation app directly, plus access to the venue’s official website and phone number.
Free, no account, no ads
We kept it simple, and we intend to keep it that way:
- Free: the app costs nothing, just like the website.
- No account: no sign-up is required to use it.
- No ads, no trackers: your browsing stays undisturbed.
- In French and in English, like kidora.ch.
You will also find the Kidora blog articles there, to stock up on outing ideas and practical tips directly from the app.
How to download the app
The Kidora app is available now on both platforms:
- iPhone: download on the App Store (iOS 16.4 or later)
- Android: download on Google Play
Search for “Kidora” on your usual store and you will recognise it by its red logo.
What’s next?
This first version lays the foundations: full catalogue, map, filters, offline favourites. The app will evolve with your feedback, so do not hesitate to write to us or leave a review on the stores: a few stars help us enormously to make Kidora known to other families.
And if you would rather receive your outing ideas every week without searching, the newsletter is there for exactly that: join over 1,000 families who receive our best outing ideas in French-speaking Switzerland.
