Kidora
How we select activities
Kidora does not automatically publish every activity found or suggested. Each listing goes through a process of research, analysis and structuring in order to determine whether it genuinely belongs on the platform.
1. We look for new activities
We carry out regular monitoring to discover new ideas for family outings. This research leads us to comb through:
- the websites of tourist offices and tourism regions;
- the websites of municipalities and local institutions;
- the websites of museums, parks, leisure centres and organisers;
- regional event calendars and seasonal programmes;
- recommendations and suggestions sent in by users;
- public information shared by the venues themselves.
This monitoring makes it possible to discover well-known places as well as local activities that are harder to find.
2. We learn about the activity
Before creating a listing, we review the available information to understand what the activity offers, which audience it is aimed at and under which conditions it can be done.
We look in particular at its value for families, whether it is sufficiently lasting or regular, the quality of the available information and its consistency with the content already on Kidora.
3. We determine whether it belongs on Kidora
Not all activities are published. We favour those that can genuinely help a family organise an outing, a discovery or a shared moment with children.
- Family relevance. The activity must be suitable for, or clearly of interest to, children and the adults accompanying them.
- Sufficient information. We must have reliable enough elements to create an understandable listing.
- Practical value. The listing must provide a usable outing idea, not merely a very occasional or insufficiently documented mention.
- Consistency with Kidora. The activity must fit the categories, regions and uses covered by the platform.
4. We create and structure the listing
When an activity is selected, we organise the available information in a format designed for parents. Depending on the accessible data, the listing may include:
- a description of the experience on offer;
- the location and region;
- the categories and useful characteristics;
- the available practical information;
- a link to the source or the official website;
- tips or useful details for preparing the outing.
Kidora does not replace the organiser’s official website. Before setting off, we recommend checking opening hours, prices, bookings and conditions directly with the venue concerned.
5. We use monitoring tools
We have developed internal tools that help us spot certain changes or potential issues, for example a page that has become unavailable, a link that no longer works or a piece of information that deserves checking.
These tools help target the checks more effectively, but they do not replace human work.
6. We run a manual verification cycle every month
Every month, we launch a new manual review cycle. Listings are checked on a rotating basis and according to their priority: popular activities, older information, detected changes, seasonal venues or listings that have been reported.
This work allows us to correct information, complete certain listings and remove or archive activities that are no longer available.
7. Users can report an error
Despite the checks, information can change between two reviews. Each listing therefore makes it possible to report an error or outdated information.
Reports are reviewed and, when the correction can be confirmed, the listing is updated. User feedback plays an important role in the quality of the platform.
8. Anyone can suggest an activity
A parent, a municipality, an association, a tourist office or a professional can suggest an activity to us. Suggestions go through the same analysis process as the activities discovered by our team.
Sending a suggestion does not guarantee its publication and no activity is added automatically.
Have we personally tested every activity?
No. Some activities may be known to or visited by our team, but Kidora does not claim to have personally tested every place listed. Listings are mainly built from public or official information, or details provided by organisers, then organised and checked by Kidora.
When content is based on personal experience or an on-site visit, this may be stated in the listing or in the relevant guide.
