CityGolf by Lake Geneva: Morges–Préverenges with family
A fun course between Morges and Préverenges to (re)discover the shores of Lake Geneva, paddle in hand. Perfect for moving, observing, and laughing together, from age 6.
A stroll that becomes a game
Between Morges and Préverenges, CityGolf transforms the lakeside promenade into a playground. You walk, aim, and hit – with a soft ball and everyday obstacles. It’s simple, outdoors, and children love counting the strokes while you enjoy the view of Lake Geneva and the Alps.
How it works on site
The principle: you pick up a bag with a club, soft balls, and a course map, then you follow 9 to 12 marked "holes" along the quays and green spaces. Each stroke is an opportunity to observe the environment, orient oneself, and learn to gauge one’s strength. The atmosphere is friendly, you progress at your own pace, encourage each other, and laugh a lot.
In terms of sensations, it’s a mix of mini-golf and treasure hunt. Children will love the freedom to play outside, the challenge of passing a bench, going around a tree, or aiming for a marker on the ground. Parents appreciate the flexibility: you can take a break for a snack, admire the sailboats, and leave whenever you want.
Everything you’re already wondering
- Age: suitable from about 6 years old (ability to handle a small club and follow a few rules). Younger ones can accompany and "try" under supervision.
- Duration: expect 1.5 to 2 hours for the complete course, depending on the number of children and the pace.
- Type of activity: playful and gently sporty, with a real educational touch (fine motor skills, patience, spatial awareness, cooperation, confidence).
- Reservation and price: paid activity with equipment rental; reservation recommended on weekends and during holidays. A deposit may be required for the bag. Check before you go.
- Accessibility: the promenade is generally flat and navigable. You can follow with a stroller; people with reduced mobility can enjoy the sections by the lake. Some "holes" may require detours.
- Transport: easy by CFF to Morges, then walk to the lake. You can start on the Morges side and finish at the Préverenges beach, then return by regional bus.
- What to bring: comfortable shoes, a cap, sunscreen, water, and a small snack. A windbreaker is useful by the lake. In wet weather, the game loses its charm; prefer dry weather.
- Safety: soft balls and simple rules. Remind to keep distance when hitting, and to stay vigilant near the water.
- Ideal period: spring, summer, autumn. In winter, the weather can make the course less enjoyable.
Parents' tips
- Start early to avoid the crowds on nice weekends.
- Take a break halfway through to recharge the little ones (snack or ice cream by the lake).
- Give each child a mission: keep score, read the map, announce the rules.
- Bring a small kit (band-aids, hand gel) and a water bottle for each child.
- If it’s windy, a lightweight technical layer under the t-shirt prevents chills.
