A nature encounter at the forest's edge

The Leysin deer park is one of those simple little gems we love to share. Located at the edge of the Forêt du Suchet, in the lower part of the village (Place des Feuilles), it is home to a herd of semi-wild deer roaming freely. You come to watch them near the feeding trough where they gather, or at the edge of the woods. Access is completely free, 7 days a week, all year round and at any time of day. No ticket, no queue: just a quiet moment facing peaceful animals, in an alpine setting.

What your children will discover

Children discover a real herd of deer, sometimes right by the fence, sometimes grazing at the edge of the woods. It's a great chance to observe animals in a natural environment, to learn to stay calm so as not to frighten them and to talk about mountain wildlife. The spot is especially popular with the youngest, who can approach gently and take their time watching.

What you'll do and the atmosphere on site

The atmosphere is peaceful and contemplative. You stroll along the fence, watch for the deer near the trough, chat in hushed voices. It's a short activity, self-guided, ideal to combine with a walk around Leysin or another outing in the resort. You can get there on foot, by bike or by car, and a free shuttle serves the area from the station.
