From what age?

Most venues recommend age 8 for taking an active part in the puzzles, but several operators in French-speaking Switzerland have developed scenarios that work much earlier with an adult. In practice:

• 4–7 years: your child follows, searches, opens drawers — the adult provides the structure. Go for short, fairy-tale scenarios.
• 8–11 years: the golden age. Children solve real puzzles and throw themselves into the adventure.
• 12 and over: they lead the game — and they are often the ones who crack it before you do.

• Four to five players is the ideal number for a family — beyond that, the little ones get overtaken on the puzzles.
• Choose a non-scary theme for the first time: family rooms always say which ones they are.
